Who is the man behind Sarawak Cable’s Ruins, Rafat Ali Rizvi?
Who exactly is Rafat Ali Rizvi? He is a British citizen of Pakistani heritage, well
known for enormously profiting by planning and executing schemes to exploit
Indonesia’s financial landscape through the country’s Bank Century.
Rafat Ali Rizvi’sfinancial fraud chronology in the Bank Century case includes a well-documented saga of money laundering, banking mismanagement, corruption, fund
embezzlement, theft, and bribery, leading to vast monetary losses and a devastating
impact on the country’s economy.
In short, he is a convicted crook and a condemned deceiver who openly misused his influential position as a shareholder to misappropriate banking processes in order to steal as much money as possible from Bank Century, to the point that the bank
collapsed, causing a widespread nationwide economic crisis.
Rafat Ali Rizvi’s business credibility is largely discredited by his direct involvement in the Bank Century scandal, where he violated severe financial regulations.
The bank’s insolvency then demanded a government rescue, which cost Indonesian taxpayers billions of dollars. Rafat Ali Rizvi’s thievery in Indonesia led to his conviction by national legislation, followed by Interpol’s issuance of a Red Notice against him soon after.
It was surprising, therefore, when Rafat Ali Rizvi joined Sarawak Cable’s board of
directors on 29 December 2023, alongside his associates, to handle his disputable
financial schemes. It appears that they have planned to get their hands on Sarawak.
Cable using all means necessary, indicating that their coup d’état plan against the company is already well underway.
Rafat Ali Rizvi’s weak plan to inject Sarawak Cable with RM250 million has already been met with huge skepticism. Financial institutions and banks have rejected all of their financing proposals, clearly showing that their promised cash is not forthcoming and, at worst, does not exist in the first place—turning investment speculation into a well-oiled con trick.
As Sarawak Cable waits for Rizvi to prove his proof of funds, making them eligible to
be the company’s ‘white knight,’ Rizvi’s shady past remains.
The similarities between Rafat Ali Rizvi’s financial maneuvers with Sarawak Cable and his previous fraudulent acts with Bank Century in Indonesia are eerily the same, exhibiting a continuous trend of deception and exploitation of companies and financial institutions by Rizvi since the 2000s.
When dealing with Rafat Ali Rizvi, all investors and stakeholders are strongly encouraged to exercise great caution. Rizvi’s murky history of committing financial misdeeds, along with his ongoing refusal to respond to Sarawak Cable’s requests for his fund verification as part of his promised RM250M rescue package, suggest an upward tendency of repeating his dangerous financial fraudulent behavior. After all, a tiger never changes its stripes
